1. About this policy

MentorAID Connect ("MentorAID", "we", "us", or "our") operates an online platform that connects UPSC aspirants with mentors for one-on-one sessions. We are committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who uses our platform. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and store it, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you. By accessing or using MentorAID Connect, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

We collect personal information that you give us and information generated automatically as you use the platform. This may include your name, email address, phone number, photograph, educational background, and details relating to your UPSC preparation. When you make a payment, the transaction is handled through trusted third-party payment processors; we do not store complete payment card details on our systems. We also collect technical information automatically, such as your IP address, device type, and usage data, which helps us run and improve the platform.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to create and manage your account, schedule and run mentorship sessions, process payments, verify mentor credentials, and provide support. We also use it to improve and personalise our services, keep the platform secure, detect and prevent fraud or misuse, and meet applicable legal and regulatory obligations. We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

4. How we share information

We share personal information only where necessary and in limited circumstances. It may be shared with the mentor assigned to your session so that session can go ahead, with payment processors to complete transactions, and with service providers who support our operations and are bound by confidentiality obligations. We may also disclose information to law enforcement, regulatory bodies, or other authorities where the law requires it, or where disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, our users, or the public.

5. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

6. Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required to meet legitimate business, accounting, or legal obligations. When information is no longer required, we take steps to delete, anonymise, or securely archive it in line with applicable law.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to give you access to the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, or delete it. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to keep certain information where the law or a legitimate business purpose requires it, and we may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before acting on a request.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to enable core functionality, remember your preferences, and understand how the platform is used so we can improve it. You can manage or disable cookies in your browser settings, though doing so may affect some features of the platform.

9. Eligibility and minors

Our services are meant for people who are legally able to enter into binding agreements. The platform is not directed at children. Where a minor uses MentorAID Connect, we advise that it be done under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts responsibility for that use.

10. Grievance officer

In line with India's Information Technology Rules and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, you may raise any grievance about how we handle your personal data with our grievance officer. Write to contact@mentoraid.in or call +91 95406 47994. We will acknowledge your complaint within a reasonable time and work to resolve it in accordance with applicable law. We will publish the grievance officer's name and designation on this page.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. The updated version will be posted on this page, and your continued use of the platform after a change means you accept the updated policy.
